What happens if my health needs change?

Saint John’s On The Lake is a continuing care retirement community which means we provide independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care on one campus.

Both our Life Care Contract and Standard Contract include priority access to the higher levels of care should your health needs change.

The Life Care Contract provides unlimited guaranteed access to Canterbury and Stratford, our assisted living neighborhoods and/or Windsor, our skilled care neighborhood. Under the Life Care Contract, even if your health status changes and you require additional care, your Monthly Fee stays virtually the same as living in your apartment, except for the additional cost of meals.

The cost of long-term care is expensive and can be unexpected. The Life Care Contract provides peace of mind  knowing your health care needs will be met at a predictable cost and in familiar surroundings by skilled caregivers.

What is unique about Life Care at Saint John's?

We understand that conservation of your available financial resources is of utmost importance.

The cost of long-term care is expensive and can be unexpected. The Life Care Contract provides peace of mind – knowing that your health care needs will be met at a predictable cost and in familiar surroundings by skilled caregivers.

Under the Life Care Contract, Saint John’s offers you a way to preserve your assets and protect your estate by ensuring your Monthly Fee stays virtually the same regardless of your level of care. We say “virtually” because your Monthly Fee increases, on average, a modest 3% per year. Residents who move to assisted living (Canterbury and Stratford) and skilled care (Windsor) neighborhoods pay an additional fee for daily meals along with Wisconsin’s mandated Bed Tax for skilled care.

Should I be concerned about their safety and security?

No. Saint John’s On The Lake staff provides 24-hour security for your parents or loved one.

The Resident Services desk at each Tower entrance are staffed from 7 am – 9 pm daily after which the main entrances are locked and can be accessible by their personal FOB or by our maintenance staff who provides security throughout the entire building overnight.

In addition, each residence is equipped with an emergency call system for 24/7 nursing response. This system also an optional daily well-being check-in for residents.

Furthermore,  the Community has a backup generator. In the event of an electrical outage, power is provided for essential operating systems such as critical medical equipment, hallway lights and elevators.
